Top 10 Tips For Earning Online in 2009

Hello Everyone,

Over the last couple weeks I have been holding a small contest with forum users, the idea of the contest was to share everyone’s top tips for making money online in 2009! Today I had to choose the winner which was a real hard job because so many entries where so good! In the end I chose Danny Cooper as the winner.

My personal top tip is, go Passive! In England we hardly ever get snow but today we got loads of it and because my income is passive it means I can go out today and spend it with my mates in the snow instead of having to go to work like the rest of the country. For those of you who aren’t sure, Passive Income means I will still make a whole load of money this month even if I do no work at all!

Top 10 Money Making Tips For 2009

1.ROI is going to be more important in 2009. Big brands (as well as small brands) will be looking for more effective advertising platforms.

What this means: Unlike traditional advertising platforms (tv, radio, newspaper) where success and conversions were had to track, the internet allows tracking of every move. Hence more companies will be investing in their affiliate programs and PPC.

As more and more companies move online, so will the customers. This is a great opportunity for bloggers to become affiliates and earn commission. This does not involve creating a product, or tricking people into buying. It is simply intersecting before they buy and slamming down your affiliate cookie.

2. Personal branding will be huge in 2009, every day more and more people are starting blogs to showcase their expertise in a subject. This will continue to happen and tools like Facebook, Twitter, ect. Will speed up the time it takes to become ‘well known’

What this means: If you know a lot about something, no matter what it is, don’t be afraid to start a blog on it. There will be an audience, and in time you will be able to monetize it eventually, just don’t give up too soon.

3. People will continue to give up. Every year hundreds upon thousands of people create a blog, website, ecommerce store or whatever. In an attempt to “make money online” and every year 90% give up before they have even gained any momentum.

What this means: Perseverance will continue to pay off, when you see people quitting their blogs around you, stick with it, go the distance. It will pay off.

4. As more and more bloggers come onto the scene continueing to be a ‘one man band’ becomes harder and harder. The more intelligent bloggers will be collaborating in one form or another to ease the road to success.

What this means: If you are a designer, and you know a coder. Wouldn’t it make sense to start a business together rather than each learn the others trait before even contemplating starting a business?

5. Keep things sweet and simple, get straight to the point with what your offering and offer it with the most convenient means as possible. People will more likely pay for something if its easy to pay for.

What this means: Don’t try to confuse your reader, they expect to see your logo in the top left corner and your sidebar on the right.

6. Have a passion for what you are doing. If you do not like doing it then you will not be able to reach your potential, nor will it bring in much money. Love what you are doing, be successful.

What this means: Don’t just do it because you think their will be money in it or because your mate is doing it, do it because you really want to be doing it!

7. The power of Twitter – Really use it to reach out to new people and find new contacts. At first glance most people don’t quite get the power of twitter but once you’ve spent a bit of time with it it will really open up opportunities and keep you updated.

What this means: Network! Know all the right people!

8. Advertise ALL YOU CAN! The more publicity your site gets, the better off you’ll be, and the more money you can make.

What this means: Sometimes you have to spend money to make money!

9. Realize that business opportunities are all around you. Don’t be blind to business opportunities, and act quickly before an opportunity expires. Identify the changes in user demand, and aim to meet those demands. Be alert to any changes – I know I will.

What this means: Act now on what can work for you! If you see your competitor being sponsored for a contest then ask them to sponsor you too!

10. Just do it. Seriously, I get so many countless people asking me how to make money, so I give them a few tips and then a month later I’ll ask them how it is going and they’ll tell me they haven’t done anything yet. So, do something about it. What’s the worst that could happen, you fail, you learn something?

What this means: Stop reading this post and start right now! (Yes I left this till last so you didn’t leave to early Image may be NSFW.
